CROSS-CULTURAL TRAINING
The world is becoming increasingly globalized with multi-cultural workforces now the norm and not the exception. Empowering people to bridge cultural, social, and educational gaps not only creates understanding but enhances productivity.
For foreigners, working and living in the Dominican Republic requires a minimum of cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity to have a happy and productive life. Understanding the difference between direct and indirect communication, compliance and non-compliance with rules, non-committal responses that are neither yes or no, being punctual and arriving on time, achievement and independence that have a different twist -each of these are cultural values manifested by behaviors that are key to understanding Dominican society.
ENTRENA can provide you cross-cultural training activities that respond to your needs. Consider the following:
One day orientation programs to living and working in the Dominican Republic. Designed for both short-term and long-term executives and consultants, we focus on the key issues of adaptation and D.R. specific knowledge any foreigner needs to know to have a productive stay in-country.

Relocation and Orientation Programs:
This includes assistance in housing, schooling, shopping, and services as well as adjustment strategies to the Dominican Republic.
Cross-Cultural Workplace Skills:
As the Dominican population continues to grow, service providers such as teachers, police, social workers, lawyers, medical support staff, etc. –need the cultural tools and awareness to better serve this population. We can design short-term training programs in the Dominican Republic to
enhance the skills of service providers for the growing immigrant
population.
The Dominican population in the United States is now approaching its third generation. These are the children and grandchildren of immigrants who have been born and raised in the United States but need to reconnect with their cultural heritage. ENTRENA offers a package entitled
“Rediscovering your Cultural Roots in the Dominican Republic” that allow this unique group of Dominican/North Americans the opportunity to revisit the DR and better understand the society of their parents and grandparents.
